Full description
Setting off from the pier at the Amalfi Darsena (or any of the chosen meeting point) after a brief briefing you’ll set sail westward toward Positano.
The route follows the most spectacular beaches of the Amalfi Coast, skirting ancient watchtowers and passing under rock arches and sea caves.
Just outside Amalfi, you’ll pass by the Grotta di Sant’Andrea, a sea cave rich in stalactites dedicated to the city’s patron saint. The tour continues past the beaches of Duoglio and Santa Croce to the Arco degli Amanti, a natural arch shaped by the sea whose outline resembles two elephants kissing. Sailing past Conca dei Marini, you’ll admire luxury villas (including Sophia Loren’s) and the monastery of Santa Rosa. Once inside Conca’s western bay, the view sweeps over the villages of Furore and Praiano, the Li Galli islands, and the Faraglioni. A stop is planned at the Grotta del Runghetiello, a natural cave with walls veined with red and green minerals where you can snorkel or take a dip.
Next, you’ll reach the Fiordo di Furore, Italy’s only natural fjord and the site of the “MarMeeting” diving competition from a 28-meter-high bridge. Sailing past Praiano, you’ll pass by the Grotta Africana, famous for its deep blue water caused by light refraction, then skirt Capo Sottile and arrive in Positano with a stop for snorkeling at the secluded beach of La Porta. The return to Amalfi offers a different yet equally spectacular view of the coast.
